It's National Hot Chicken Day

Today is for those who love hot and spicy: Hot Chicken Day!


According to foodimentary.com, The originator of hot chicken is the family of Andre Prince Jeffries, owner of Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack out of Nashville, TN. 


FUN FACT: Hot Chicken was created  by a scorned woman, Thornton Prince’s girlfriend cooked him a super spicy fried chicken breakfast after he was out all night with another girl.😲#theshadeofitall

Turns out helped the chicken so much he soon opens a chicken shack in the 1930’s and its been served all over the Nation ever since including in KFC."

You’ll find these party-perfect, and quick and easy.


𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

24 6-in. (15-cm) wooden skewers

1/2 cup chili sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

24 chicken tenders (about 2 lbs.)

1/2 cup celery stalks, finely chopped

2 tablespoon onion, finely chopped

1 bottle (8 oz) lowfat bleu cheese dressing


𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

Preheat oven to 400°F. Soak wooden skewers in water. Mix together chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce in Small Batter Bowl using Skinny Scraper. Thread each chicken tender on wooden skewer leaving 1-inch at the end. Arrange skewers in spoke-like fashion in Rectangular Stone Baker. Brush chicken with half of chili sauce mixture using Chef's Silicone Basting Brush. Bake 10 minutes. Turn and brush with remaining mixture and continue baking 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, chop celery and onion using Food Chopper. Add dressing; mix well. Serve with chicken.
