It's National Drink Wine Day❗

For all of my wine connoisseurs out there, today is your day to celebrate.

According to, "Wine does have its benefits after all. Moderate drinkers of wine have lower risks of liver disease, type II diabetes, certain kinds of cancers, heart attack, and stroke.  It also can reduce the bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase the good (HDL).

Drinking wine includes other benefits such as when paired with the right meal, it enhances the flavors of spices, fruits, and sauces. A glass of wine often helps relax us after a stressful day. 

Since the fruits, regions, and the making of wine have such a complex story, those who delve into it find themselves traveling to learn more while keeping their minds sharp in the process."

In honor of today, here's a few ways you can responsibly pay homage:

📍It is also National Crab-Stuffed Flounder Day, so I suggest a fresh, fruity white wine pairing the celebrations together with family and friends.

📍Attend or host a wine tasting.

📍I'm a teetotaler (one who abstains completely from alcoholic beverages) but here's a delicious recipe you can try: 𝗥𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆-𝗚𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀

1 bag (12 oz/350 g) frozen raspberries

1/2 cup (125 mL) honey

1/2 cup (125 mL) water

2 tsp (10 mL) grated fresh gingerroot

1 bottle (750 mL) dry white wine such as Chardonnay, chilled


Combine raspberries, honey, water and ginger in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH 2-3 minutes or until warm, stirring halfway through. Place fine-mesh strainer over small bowl and pour raspberry mixture into strainer. Press mixture lightly with Small Mix ‘N Scraper® to extract as much raspberry syrup as possible. Discard raspberry pulp and seeds.

Pour wine into serving pitcher. Stir raspberry syrup into wine. Refrigerate 2 hours or until cold. Serve over crushed ice.
