Today, we celebrate the delicious and wholesome treat that has been a favorite for generations. Whether you enjoy it for breakfast, as a snack, or with your afternoon tea, Date Nut Bread is a delightful way to indulge in something sweet and nutritious.


Pampered Chef Exclusive Recipe: Classic Date Nut Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped dates

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 4 tablespoons melted butter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg, room temperature

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans


Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a loaf pan.

  2. Place the chopped dates in a bowl and sprinkle with baking soda. Pour the boiling water over the dates and let them soak while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the melted butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix well.

  4. Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined.

  5. Stir in the soaked dates (including the water) and the chopped nuts.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
